From the desk of Mark Klang

Dear Rocklin Residents,

The Rocklin City Council has squandered our tax dollars while raising taxes and cutting services. They have cut the budgets of police and fire departments. We now have longer response times and a less secure city. They have passed an alarm tax, park tax, and increased fees on your cable bill.

Look how they really spent your tax dollars. Below are managers that retired last December and were hired back PART-TIME with the following salaries:

  • City Manager - $137,000
  • Police Chief - $118,000
  • Assistant City Manager - $100,000
  • Battalion Chief - $70,000
  • Police Lieutenant - $68,000
  • Chief Building Official - $67,000
  • Senior Engineer - $60,000

Some of these PART-TIME salaries are greater than most people make for full-time work. The City Council has eliminated jobs and reduced hours so they can pay off their friends. This proves that the "good ole boys" network is alive and well in Rocklin.

If elected, I will put an immediate end to this unethical practice. Like Congress, the Rocklin City Council no longer believes it must answer to the voters.

PROVEN LEADER

Mark served Rocklin residents on the Rocklin Unified School District Board of Trustees and was instrumental in protecting Rocklin citizens excessive spending and excessive compensation for administrators. Mark fought to make sure that all parent's voices were heard. He was not afraid to stand up for parent's rights. He led a successful campaign to change school district policy by not allowing the district to release children from school without notifying the parent. Mark's main concern was your child's safety. Elect Mark Klang and bring this kind of vision and leadership to the Rocklin City Council!

MARK KLANG HAS THE RIGHT STUFF

My family has lived in Rocklin since 1994. I served 22 years in the Air Force flying the F-4 and B-52. While working at the Pentagon, I was the program manager for a multi-million dollar F-16 program. I know how important it is to make sure our tax dollars are not wasted. In 2000 you elected me to the Rocklin School Board. I made sure your tax dollars were used in the classroom and not for outrageous administrator salaries. I have been a coach for Rocklin Soccer, Girls AAU Basketball, and Rocklin Girls Fast Pitch Softball. I continue to coach my younger daughters soccer team and will be coaching her AAU basketball team this winter.
